Problem with Google Chrome Browser Autofill

2/15/2018: We have discovered a problem with the Google Chrome browser on our website. When you use the autofill feature in Chrome to enter your address information, Chrome may insert pieces of the address (usually the city) into other random fields on the page. The problem we see the most is the City name being inserted into the Organization name field.

This appears to have started with a change that Chrome made to the autofill functionality in Chrome version 63 (released in December 2017). If you are using the latest version of Chrome on our website, you will probably experience this issue if you use autofill.

As a result, we recommend that you not use Google Chrome on our website. If, you decide you want to use Chrome on the website, then we strongly recommend you not use the autofill feature. If, you do use the autofill feature, then, afterwards, please carefully check every field on the page to make sure that Chrome did not insert address information into other fields on the page.

This problem is happening on other websites as well. The software development community is requesting that Chrome fix this problem quickly, but, as of yet, Chrome has not acknowledged that there is even a problem, so we are not sure when Chrome will fix this issue.

UPDATE 2/21/2018:We were able to find a way to disable Chrome autofill on our Form 990 Data entry pages for the time being. We anticipate that Chrome may catch onto this work around (which is now being used by a number of web developers) at some point, and the problem may come back, but for now, the problem is resolved.
