Form Due Dates


Here are the dues dates for the various forms our system supports:

IRS Forms:
  • Form 990/Form 990-EZ: File by the 15th day of the 5th month after the organization's accounting period ends (May 15th for a calendar-year filer). If the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, file on the next business day. Here is a link to the IRS list of Deadline Dates.

  • Form 8868 - Request for Extension: File this form to request an automatic six month extension of time to file the Form 990 or 990-EZ. This form MUST be filed prior to the Original due date of your return (see above). If filed and accepted by the IRS, your form 990 becomes due six months after your original due date.

Hawaii State filings annual due dates: For organizations that file an IRS Form 990 or 990EZ, the annual report is due within ten business days of the date that the organization files the form with the Internal Revenue Service.For organizations that file a Form 990-N or organizations that are not required to file a Form 990or 990-EZ, a special Hawaii transmittal must be submitted to the Department no later than the fifteenth day of the fifth month following the close of its fiscal year. New York State filings annual due dates: Annual Filing due dates depend on an organization�s registration type. Article 7-A and Dual registrants are required to file within 4.5 months after the end of their fiscal year. EPTL registrants are required to file within 6 months after the end of their fiscal year. Michigan State filings annual due dates: The registration will expire one year and seven months after the end date of the financial report filed with your last registration form. The expiration date will be noted on your registration confirmation. At least thirty days prior to the expiration date on your registration confirmation, the organization must file a renewal form. The annual charitable solicitation registration must be renewed annually. Each registration includes its expiration date, which is seven (7) months after the end of the organization's fiscal year. To renew, the organization should submit a CTS - 02 Renewal Solicitation Form at least thirty (30) days prior to the expiration date, along with required attachments.
